Dedicated To Improving Pharmaceutical Cold-Chain Distribution Practices
Re: Re: The Incalculable Cost of Drug Litigation

James, I know this is a frustrating point for distributors and the further down the distribution chain, the more vague the information becomes. Consequently, the importance of maintaining cold-chain custody also does not trickle down. At times the information that down-stream cold-chain handlers need to properly transport the product is " unavailable" which could mean several things: manufacturers are adverse to any possible negative exposure risk, they can't locate it, or are unsure to what extent stability studies/cycling studies have been performed. Drug manufacture and licensing exchange hands frequently as companies buy one another and inerit their product lines, further distancing the availability of data needed. There is hope. Several of the more recent cold-chain conferences have addressed this issue and there is, if not a sense of urgency among bio/pharma regarding the importance of this matter, there is at least an awareness. But change comes slow to tis conservative industry. If you have a specific product you need information about, let me know. Perhaps through my contacts in the industry or one of the regular visitors to this blog can put you in touch with the right folks.
