Thank you for your comments, Hothead. I have a large litho print of the Edmond Fitzgerald hanging in my office. It's an eerie depiction of the freighter headed downbound on Superior on the night of its fatal voyage. It surprises and saddens me when its significance is lost on visitors. However, those from the Great Lakes States and Provinces immediately get it and I see them admiring it with an almost solomn reverence. Those who are not often ask my why do you have a picture of a sinking ship in my office? All I can say is ithat if you're not from the lakes region of the US, I can explain it - but you're never going to appreciate it.
